Food Ecology & Evolution explores the evolution of diets in the animal kingdom, with special emphasis on mammals, as well as the evolution of agricultural practices, and the role of ecology in understanding both of these. Throughout the semester we visit farms in Singapore and learn how food is currently produced, while discussing ways the sustainability of these practices might be improved. Students conduct experiments related to food production on our urban campus, and produce a final report to administration & campus food services with justified recommendations for increasing campus food sustainability.
